Fewer people are showing up at voter registration centers in Côte d’Ivoire to have their names registered in the run-up to the October 2025 presidential election.
Two days after the start of registration operations, some centers are struggling to even see the shadow of an applicant.
This was announced Tuesday by the president of the independent electoral commission.
Speaking as a guest of the Press Club organized by the National Union of Journalists of Côte d’Ivoire UNJCI, Coulibaly Kuibiert, the president of the CEI, urged journalists to continue raising awareness on the need for people to go out to get registered.
