The premises of National Elections Commission, (NEC) of Liberia has been attacked by some unknown assailants. The incident which occurred on Monday night, was only revealed on Tuesday evening by the commission which indicated that Preliminary investigation indicate petrol bombs were used in the attack.
While there were no casualties, damages worth US$45, 000 were recorded.
The attack comes amid heightened political tension over the Elections Commissions, alleged failure to certify an opposition candidate who won a senate seat.
