A Liberian advocacy group, Girls Alliance for Future Leadership, has expressed its concern over the practice of Female Genital Mutilation, or FGM, in rural communities, despite a ban by the government.
Early this year, Liberian traditional leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government to stop the practice for the next three years.
However, as WADR’s Darlington Porkpa reports, dozens of girls in rural communities are still undergoing the cut.
