Liberia has instituted measures to address issues of sexual exploitation and abuse in public schools through the recruitment and deployment of several guidance counselors in schools across the country.    

Speaking over the weekend during the deployment of over 200 guidance counselors, Education Minister, Ansu Sonii threatened to dismiss any teacher caught harassing or exploiting students for grades.
