The United Nations Security Council held an emergency session on Monday to discuss the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who faces prosecution in the United States.
During the meeting at UN Headquarters in New York, the A3 countries—Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia—presented a joint position on the situation.
Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Lewis Brown, spoke on behalf of the group, calling for restraint and dialogue.
He urged all parties to pursue a peaceful resolution and uphold international law amid rising global tensions.
