Liberia has reported its first monkeypox case since 2018.
Monkeypox is an infectious viral disease that can occur in humans and some animals, and symptoms include fever, swollen lymph nodes, and a rash that forms blisters and then crusts over.
According to Liberian Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, an index case is a 43-year-old man who traveled from Cote'D'Ivoire to SouthEastern Liberia's Maryland County.
