Liberia’s Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection has launched the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, spotlighting a troubling rise in incidents of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) across the country.
The campaign, which runs from November 25 to December 10, focuses on mobilizing communities and stakeholders to combat violence against women and girls. Speaking at the launch, the ministry emphasized that “ending violence against women is possible, but only if we act together, now.”
The initiative aims to promote awareness, advocacy, and actionable steps toward reducing SGBV and fostering a safer environment for women and children in Liberia.
