The International Labor Organization ILO forecasts employment growth for Africa and the Arab States in 2023, representing an increase of about 3 percent or more.
However, due to the increase in their working-age populations, both regions are expected to experience only a modest decline in unemployment rates of between 7 and 8 percent.
