The International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) over the weekend held its 51st anniversary since its creation on March 20, 1970.
Niger’s Minister in Charge of Foreign Affairs – Marou Amadou, in his remarks centered ON the theme "Francophone women, resilient women", highlighted the health and economic impact the covid19 pandemic has had on women in countries around the world.
Amadou, made the case for the "La Francophonie avec elle" project, launched in July 2020 with the main objective of solidifying and improving the condition of women through economic autonomy.
Minister Amadou mentioned some successes recorded by the organization to include reduced inequalities between women and men within the Francophone countries.
Others are right issues such as the fight against discrimination and violence, girls' education, economic empowerment, leadership and participation in decision-making processes.
Founded on March 20, 1970 in Niamey, Niger, the International Organization of La Francophonie, is an organization that brings together the countries of the world that share the French language as a language of expression.
