Ivorian Prime Minister, Patrick Achi, during the weekend, launched a vast social aid plan in the northern region of the country.
The plan covers the regions bordering Mali and Burkina Faso, where jihadist groups are trying to recruit young people.
The visit to the town of Tougbo took place under high security and a heavy military presence.
The social aid plan according to the Prime minister will allow all young people and women to build decent lives through access to basic social goods.
Classified as a red zone, Tougbo and its surroundings have experienced several extremist attacks in recent times.
