Iran to support Burkina Faso in the areas of rebuilding the economy and energy

Government of Iran has reaffirmed its commitment to support Burkina Faso in the areas of rebuilding the economy and energy.  

Iranian Ambassador, Alireza Taheri, conveyed this reassurance and other promises to the Burkinabe Prime Minister Albert Ouédraogo during a visit on Thursday. 

The Iranian envoy, Alireza Taheri, who addressed newsmen shortly after meeting with the Prime Minister, said their vision is to work to strengthen ties between Burkina Faso. 

In addition to helping Burkina Faso navigate through its current security challenges, Ambassador Taheri mentioned that Tehran is interested in helping the country rebuild its economy through enhancing access to electricity. 

He also spoke about talks on improving trade and bilateral relations between his country and Burkina Faso.

Alireza Taheri revealed that the first relationship between Burkina Faso and Iran dates back to 1977 but officially started in 1981.
