The United Nations Office on Drug and Crime in the Gambia says the trend in the use of illicit drugs among youth in West Africa has increased.
The Programme Coordinator Coumba Mathurin Diop adds that the region being used as a destination by cartels is worrying. She also called for concerted efforts in the fight against drug and crime adding, the fight against the menace should be taken seriously.
Diop was speaking to our Banjul correspondent Sankulleh Janko on the sidelines of awareness campaign on illicit drugs in Gambia. She started by explaining the Listening First Campaign- an awareness campaign on drug and crime.
