Burkina Faso’s strong man, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has now officially assumed the functions of the country’s head of state following the adoption on Wednesday evening of a fundamental act that restored the Constitution.
The movement's spokesman, Captain Farouk Sorghum, made the announcement on state television.
He said the president of the Patriotic Movement for Safeguarding and Restoration (MPSR,) Captain Ibrahim Traoré, assumes the functions of head of state supreme head of the armed forces and is the guarantor of the independence of the judiciary.
