The International NGO- Reporters Without Borders has asked two special rapporteurs who belong to the African Commission on Human and People’s rights ACHDR to intervene in the case of Cameroonian journalist Amadou Vamoulke.

Amadou Vamoulke has been in police custody for the past three years after he was accused of embezzlement during his time as the Director General of the Cameroon Radio and Television Co-orporation- CRTV. His trial has been repeatedly adjourned and his 23rd hearing before a special criminal court is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9.
Reporters without Borders say Mr. Vamoulke’s arrest was politically motivated and they are calling on relevant stakeholders to pressure the government for his release.
