    A conference on the respect of presidential term limits will end today in the Nigerien capital, Niamey. The three day conference had in attendance former heads of states, African civil society actors working to promote democracy and high-ranking figures from regional and continental organizations such as the African Union and ECOWAS.

    This initiative of the National Democratic Institute in partnership with the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA), Africa Foundation and the Koffi Annan Foundation is taking place as votes are being raised in some African countries against possible third terms.
    Mathias Hounkpé, administrator of the political governance program at OSIWA spoke to WADR’s Mariama Thiam.
