Mali: Government accused of delaying the trial of the 2012 Coup Leader, Sanogo

    The Malian Association of Prosecutors says the Malian government lacks the political will to judge Amadou Haya Sanogo, leader of the 2012 military coup This statement was made by the President of the Association, Cheick Mohamed Chérif Koné.

    There has been no official statement yet from the government as the Minister of Justice has not made any official comment on this statement of blame from the association of prosecutors.
    As Sankulleh Janko reports, the families of the soldiers killed during the 2012 coup are demanding the immediate resumption of the trial of Sanogo and his accomplices.
