United Nations: Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso encouraged to enhance security along their shared borders

    Senior UN officials, the G5 Sahel Secretariat and the Liptako Gourma Authority visiting Mali emphasized the need for Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso to work closely together to address the growing insecurity along their shared borders.

    The delegation is in Mali to mobilize regional support for the government as well as civilians affected by the violence.
    Speaking to WADR from the capital, Bamako, the International Organisation for Migration Regional Director for West and Central Africa, Richard Danziger, said that thousands of displaced people in Mali are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.
