Members of the National Health Workers Union of Liberia are embarking on an indefinite strike action today to pressure the George Weah-led government to meet their demands.

The health workers had initially given the government a two-week ultimatum to pay their COVID-19 hazard benefits as well as increase the salaries and benefits of healthcare workers.

Since then, the government seems to have failed to meet the demands thereby resulting in today’s go-slow action.

WADR’s Darlington Porkpa has a report from Monrovia.
