Guinea ruling party will convene next week to choose a candidate for presidential election due later this year.
News about the convention was announced by the party’s spokesman, fuelling opposition distrust of its aims.
Aly Kaba, a lawmaker from the Rally for the People of Guinea (RPG) says the party will hold its convention on August 5 and 6 at its national headquarters.
He adds that it is at this gathering that the party will designate its candidate for the presidential poll.
