At least 24 persons died, while others were 36 injured following heavy flooding across Niger on Thursday.
According to a press release from the General Directorate of Civil Protection. (DGPC), a total 54,655 persons were affected by the flooding in Niger since the start of the rainy season.
The statement said in order to prevent loss of life, the Operational Center for Monitoring, Alert and Crisis Management (COVACC) urges the population to be more vigilant.
The country’s hydrometeorological services had announced that the rainy season for this year set in around the beginning of June.
