Guinea's transition president Colonel Mamady Doumbouya, has appointed Mohamed Béavogui as Prime Minister.
The former civil servant and expert in agricultural finance will preside over the transition back to democratic rule following a coup in September.
The 68-year-old is also the nephew of Diallo Telli, a celebrated Guinean diplomat who served as the first secretary-general of the Organisation of African Unity, the predecessor to the African Union, and was killed by the regime of dictator Sekou Touré in 1977.
Beavogui’s nomination was announced in a decree read on national television.
