Civil society organizations in Guinea are calling for the release of former dignitaries of the Alpha Condé regime who are under judicial supervision of

These organizations denounce the instrumentalization of the Court of Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses by the ruling military.

They also demand a thorough reform of this court, which they claim only prosecutes socio-political actors opposed to the current transitional government. 

As Francis Boniface reports, some of these former officials have been in prison without trial since 2022.
