Guinea’s government has announced plans to hold presidential and legislative elections together to fast-track the return to constitutional rule.

But the opposition coalition, Forces Vives de Guinée, has pushed back, calling for an inclusive dialogue and an independent electoral body.

They argue the process must be transparent and consensual to avoid further political instability.

Tensions are rising as stakeholders await clarity on the proposed electoral timetable.
