In Guinea, opposition group Forces Vives has reported three fatalities from Monday’s protests, revising the death toll amidst escalating tensions.
Protest organizers claim over 100 demonstrators were arrested, while security forces maintain a strong presence across Conakry with tanks stationed at strategic locations.
Forces Vives remain steadfast, vowing to mobilize until the military cedes power to a civilian government, condemning the state’s repression despite a recent lift on demonstration bans by Transitional President General Mamady Doumbouya.
The government has yet to comment on the casualties from Monday’s unrest.
