Deposed President of Guinea Alpha Conde has been transferred to the residence of the former First Lady located on the northern Corniche in the capital Conakry.

Deposed on September 5, the former president was held in detention at the Mohamed V Palace before his transfer on Sunday.

Transitional authorities have deployed special forces and the national gendarmerie around the compound to keep watch over the former president.

Since the coup of September 5, the release of Alpha Conde has  been among the demands of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
