With just days to go before Sunday’s referendum, Guinea’s political tensions are rising. Opposition figures, including former President Alpha Condé and UFDG leader Cellou Dalein Diallo, have urged citizens to boycott the vote.

The government was quick to respond, with Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah dismissing the boycott calls as attempts to derail the country’s rebuilding efforts.

He assured that the electoral process is on track and predicted a decisive “YES” victory with strong voter turnout.
