Guinea’s military leader, General Mamadi Doumbouya, has officially submitted his candidacy to the Supreme Court ahead of the December 28 presidential election.
Running as an independent, Doumbouya is expected to face roughly ten opponents from political parties and civil society groups. His entry into the race marks a pivotal moment in the transition process, drawing both national and international attention.
The Supreme Court now has until November 14 to publish the final list of approved candidates.
