Legislative elections will be held on November 24 in Guinea Bissau. President Umarou Sissoko Emballo made the announcement on Monday while addressing the press.
This will be the second time in a year and a half that Bissau-Guineans will elect their Members of Parliament.
It will be recalled that the president dissolved the National Assembly, which was then dominated by the opposition, in December 2023, following events that he describes as an “attempted coup d’état.”
