Guinea Bissau has released impounded Gambian vehicles following a seizure due to the lack of proper documentation.
The seventeen (17) vehicles were released after discussions between President Adama Barrow and his counterpart, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, over the matter.
According to an official statement, based on the cordial and bilateral relationship between the two countries, President Barrow dispatched a Gambian delegation to Bissau upon receiving the information of the seizure.
On the team are Foreign Minister Momodou Tangara, and Head of the ECOWAS National Office Ndeye Tabara Touray among others.
The Gambian Government is urging all operators involved in cross-border activities to have proper documentation that meets the requirements of trading partners within the subregion to avoid similar incidents.
