The government of Guinea is appealing to national and international partners to help it contain the spread of Lassa fever. One person has died from the disease in the latest outbreak.

A statement issued by the country’s ministry of health on Tuesday indicated that thirty people who have been in contact with the victim have been identified and are currently being monitored. An investigation is also underway in the surrounding villages to identify possible patients.
