The Gambia: government declared a 7-day national mourning
The Gambian government on Wednesday declared a 7-day national mourning following the death of its Vice President Alieu Badara Joof.
In memory of the late Vice President Joof, President Barrow has declared a 7-day National Mourning effective today, 18th January 2023 with all flags flying half Mast.
Upon arrival, the body of the late Vice President according to the government will be laid in State at the National Assembly for a State Funeral.
However, Arrangements related to the funeral government say will be announced later.
