A consortium of organizations and survivors Monday filed a Communication to the International Criminal Court (ICC) on crimes committed against migrants and refugees in Libya that may constitute crimes against humanity.
The organizations include the European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and Lawyers for Justice in Libya.
They urge the ICC to investigate the responsibility of Libyan armed groups, militias and state actors involved in the commission of these crimes, including arbitrary detention, torture, murder, persecution, sexual violence and slavery.
