In Ghana, Media advocacy group, United Press for Development Network, has petitioned the inspector general of police, Dr George Akufo-Dampare over the lack of closure in the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.
The undercover journalist who worked with Tiger Eye PI and was heavily involved in a collaboration with the BBC on corruption in football refereeing, was shot and killed by unidentified men on January 16, 2019 near his residence in Accra.
The police’s promise to bring the culprits to book has yielded no results 3 years after the killing. International relations coordinator of the group Frank Darlington Heymann wants the police to be proactive.
