The National Executive Council (NEC) of Ghana’s ruling political party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has unanimously approved Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 general elections.
The party emphasized that Dr. Opoku Prempeh, who is also the Minister of Energy, meets all the criteria for the running mate position, which gave him the unanimous nod.
Speaking on Thursday, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, highlighted that Dr. Opoku Prempeh, popularly called Napo, is a proven achiever who can help it secure victory in the pending December elections.
