In Ghana, the seven-member ad hoc committee set up to investigate chaos during the vetting of President John Mahama’s nominees has concluded its work. The Minority MPs, led by Alexander Afenyo-Markin, withdrew from the hearings, alleging impartiality and confidentiality breaches by the committee chairman, Emmanuel Bedzrah.
Despite the absence of the Minority, the committee proceeded with public hearings, gathering testimonies from Majority MPs and other witnesses to shed light on the controversial events during the vetting session. The investigation aims to ensure transparency in the process.
