Ghana’s Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo, has come under criticism over her recent proposal for the president, Nana Akufo-Addo, to appoint 5 additional judges to the Supreme.
The proposal, if accepted, will increase the number of justices on the bench of the Apex Court from 15 to 20.
The CJ argues the extra numbers will help cater for the growing workload the “limited” members of the bench of the apex court have to deal with.
