Authorities in Ghana say they are winning the fight against illegal mining, and the destruction of forests and river bodies.
The deputy minister of land in charge of forestry, Benito Owusu-Bio, said the fight to totally eradicate illegal activities around mining sites, water bodies, and, forests, will continue unabated.
His comments come as a task force arrests five suspected illegal miners operating in Bosomchi Range Reserve in the Ashanti region.
