Ghana Parliament Speaker Alban Bagbin, has threatened to fully utilize the services of the Marshal Department to restore order in the chamber.

Addressing the House on Wednesday, the Speaker noted that he would no longer bear the breaches being committed in the 8th Parliament by some legislators.

According to him, such recalcitrant MPs would be arrested and sent out of the chamber.

Ghana’s parliament is at a unique place with an equal number of 137 for the ruling new patriotic party and the opposition national democratic congress with the only difference being an independent candidate who has chosen to do business with the government.

The result has been mostly tense sessions with each side heckling and sometimes exchanging blows, a situation the speaker describes as unacceptable.
