Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, has said he has no regret appointing Martin Amidu as the country’s first Special Prosecutor, despite their fallouts.
President Akufo-Addo speaking at the swearing-in of the new Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyabeng at the Jubilee House on Thursday, insists that office of the special prosecutor was adequately resourced to undertake its work, despite claims by the former prosecutor of inadequate resources and interferences in his work by the head of state.
Akufo Addo said he had no reservations when the Attorney General and Minister of Justice nominated the newly appointed prosecutor to be the second person to occupy the office.
The new special prosecutor, Kissi Agyabeng, 43, pledged to use all resources available to his office to fight and suppress corruption in line with the Akuffo Addo government led anti-corruption crusade.
