Ghana’s Parliament has voted to repeal several taxes, including the controversial E-Levy, betting tax, and emissions levy.

The move fulfills a campaign promise by the governing NDC, which had criticized the taxes as burdensome and unconventional.

The amended laws now await presidential assent before they take effect.
