Ghana opposition slams Chief Justice’s suspension, govt insists due process followed

Ghana’s Parliamentary Minority has condemned President Mahama’s suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, labeling it a threat to judicial independence.

The suspension is based on a prima facie case from three petitions and aligns with Article 146(6) of the Constitution.

However, the Deputy Attorney General insists the move follows due process and involves the Council of State.
