Ghana’s main opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for declaring former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, a fugitive.
At a press conference in Accra, NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye described the OSP’s actions as unreasonable and unjustified, labeling the move a national embarrassment. On Wednesday, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive, accusing him of causing financial loss to the state, particularly in connection with the National Cathedral project and the Ghana Revenue Authority’s contract with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
