The largest opposition party in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won the contentious parliamentary seat in the Sene West Constituency in the Bono East Region.
This means that as it stands, the two leading political parties in the country each have 137 members of parliament elect with one independent candidate.
The somewhat hug parliament will be a historic situation for the country with analysts suggesting this could result in more accountability.
