The Commitment of Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo to fight corruption has been questioned after he forcefully retired anti-graft campaigner and Auditor General, Daniel Domelevo.
Last year, the Auditor General was ordered to proceed on 167 days of accumulated leave in a move described as punishment for investigating and surcharging top government officials involved in shady deals.
On the eve of his return to work however, the Audit Service board questioned his nationality and age, which later resulted the Presidency directing Domelevo to proceed on leave.
WADR’s Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson reports that on Wednesday, Domelevo held a thanksgiving ceremony to thank all and sundry who supported him while in office.
