The Electoral Commission of Ghana has said that a total of 39 aspirants have picked up presidential forms to contest the December 7 elections.
In the breakdown, the EC said 27 individuals have declared their intentions to contest as independent presidential candidates, the remaining 12 are from registered political parties in the country.
The EC has, meanwhile, scheduled September 9 to September 13, 2024 for the submission of completed presidential nomination forms at its head office.
Ghanaians will go to the polls on December 7 to elect a new president to replace Nana Akufo-Addo who is completing his second and last term as Ghana’s president.
