At least 14 school pupils have drowned after the boat they were in capsized on the River Oti, in Ghana’s Northern Region.

According to reports, the students numbering 31 were supposed to be in school, however, they were sent to their head teacher’s home to work on his farm. Upon returning home, the boat they boarded turned over, resulting in the casualties.
