Liberia’s former president, George Weah, has raised concerns over reports of voter intimidation in Nimba County ahead of the senatorial by-election.
Weah urged the UN to monitor the situation closely, warning that any threats to the rule of law could destabilize the country.
He emphasized the need for a free and fair electoral process, free from security interference.
The UN Resident Coordinator reassured Weah of international support for Liberia’s democratic process.
