The Gambia’s Truth Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) has begun public hearings surrounding the killing of more than 50 West African citizens in July 2005.

The migrants en route to Europe, were arrested on the Gambian shores by the security chiefs who accused them of being mercenaries assigned to overthrow former President YahyaJammeh.
