There have been mixed reactions to the sentencing of an ally of former President Yahya Jammeh to death by hanging. Yankuba Touray was sentenced on Wednesday, for the murder of former Finance Minister Ousman Koro Ceesay.

Yankuba was charged for murder after he refused to testify before the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission (TRRC) two years ago.

His defense team however say they will appeal his conviction.
