Civil society groups in The Gambia are demanding justice for the 2000 student massacre.

April 10 and 11 mark 25 years since state forces opened fire on student protesters under Yahya Jammeh’s regime.

Rights groups want the government to declare the dates as national school holidays and build a memorial.

They also urge full implementation of the TRRC’s recommendations for justice and reparations.
